The neck is a window to our true age. A combination of genetic, anatomic, physiologic, and environmental factors converge to display patterns of aging unique to the neck. These changes include loss of subcutaneous fat, gain or inappropriate distribution of subcutaneous fat, muscle banding, jowling, excessive skin laxity due to loss of collagen, dilation of blood vessels, and pigmentation changes.
Treating the Aging Neck
But there is good news! There are a variety of treatments at our disposal to address these many issues and reverse the outward signs of an aging neck. Chat with your dermatologist to understand which is the best solution for you!

CoolSculpting

Cons: Requires the use of local anesthesia, small incisions, and can require a few days of downtime and compression to the treated areas.
Secret RF

Cons: Does not affect fat. May need multiple treatments for dramatic results.
Laser/IPL
What it is: Superficial imperfections such as pigment or blood vessels are removed with light energy.

Nectifirm
What it is: A topical cream combining peptides, plant extracts, antioxidants, and other biotechnological blends that work cohesively to create a smoother, younger-looking neck, decolletage, and jawline. The use of this cream helps with the prevention of early to moderate signs of aging on the neck and decolletage.
Pros: Noninvasive topical that you can apply at home. It helps the skin appear firmer and lifted, reduces the appearance of rough, crepey skin, smooths the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This would be a great product to use in addition to one of the aforementioned procedures for maintenance.
Cons: This product has to be applied twice per day with consistency for 8-12 weeks before you begin to notice results. Results vary.
