Dr. Cotell grew up in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois and graduated Cum Laude from Duke University. She attended medical school at Northwestern University, graduating in the Alpha Omega Honor Society, and stayed there for her internship and dermatology residency where she was chief resident in her last year. After finishing her residency, she opened the Center for Advanced Dermatology within the Northwestern Memorial Physicians Group in Chicago. She later moved to Columbus, Ohio and has been practicing dermatology at Northeast Dermatology since 2008. Dr. Cotell has been published in national medical journals including the New England Journal of Medicine, Archives of Internal Medicine, International Journal of Dermatology, American Journal of Emergency Medicine, and the Journal of Investigative Dermatology.
Dr. Cotell enjoys both general and cosmetic/surgical dermatology. She emphasizes a comprehensive approach to skin care including full body skin checks for skin cancer detection and counsels patients on how to attain and maintain healthy skin.
Dr. Cotell has made a guest television appearance on Good Day Columbus and has contributed to various health articles in the Columbus Dispatch and local magazines. Her outside interests include baking desserts for her friends and family, watching movies, attending live theater, productions, traveling, reading novels, practicing yoga, working out and spending time with her family and two rescue cats.
