Dr. Herron is a native of Indiana but spent the latter part of his childhood in South Carolina. He received academic scholarships to attend the University of South Carolina and the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, SC, where he received his Bachelor’s of Science and Medical Doctorate degrees, respectively. He completed his Internship at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Internal Medicine and Dermatology Residency at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, IN, where he was chief resident his final year. He elected to pursue two additional years of Fellowship training in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, Laser Surgery, Dermatologic Surgery and Cosmetic Surgery in Columbus, OH.
His main interests are general dermatology, skin cancer treatment and reconstruction, cosmetic surgery, laser surgery, and facial aesthetics and rejuvenation. He has been published in national medical journals including The Journal of Dermatologic Surgery, The American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery, The Journal of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, The Archives of Dermatology, Cutis, Skin & Aging, etc. He has lectured at national meetings including The American Academy of Dermatology and The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
