Cryotherapy (CO2 Slush)

Cosmetic Dermatology

A CO2 Slush, also known as Cryotherapy, is a procedure that has been used for over 25 years in dermatology.  It is used to treat acne, acne scars, and fade redness left by acne or other discoloration.

Liquid Co2 is made into a snowy powder and wrapped in gauze and then dipped into acetone to create a slush. The slush is then lightly dabbed over the treated areas. Cryotherapy has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties making it ideal for acne prone skin. Cryotherapy can be done as often as once every two weeks. This procedure may be covered by some insurance companies.
